A native of Rochester, NY., Gunnar was a US Lacrosse All-American, All-Greater Rochester, and Section V Offensive Player of the Year in 2012. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point where he was a team captain of the 2017 team. He played in all four seasons at West Point and led Army to a 12-4 season his senior year beating two top five opponents in Syracuse and Notre Dame. Gunnar is currently stationed at Fort Jackson where he works in Basic Combat Training assisting in transforming Civilians into Soldiers. He spent two and a half years at Fort Stewart, GA near Savannah, GA where he coached on and off with Lowlaxsav and assisted for two years with the Army Lacrosse camp.
