ATLANTA – The Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA), the preeminent non-varsity league in the country, is pleased to announce that Under Armour will be sponsoring the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour, which will be awarded to an MCLA student-athlete in each division that has stood out with his overall play.

The Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour will be awarded 15 times during the season in each division, starting on Feb. 9 and running through May 17. The recipient of the honor will receive a new Under Armour Command Head, a $90 value, in addition to national recognition.

“Under Armour has been a great supporter of the MCLA and this is just another example,” said MCLA president Ken Lovic. “This is an opportunity for our student-athletes to gain recognition for their efforts on the field, not to mention the Under Armour Command Head. With the start of our 20th season less than a month away, this is another reason to get excited about facing off this spring.”

The award will be based on statistical prowess, opponent strength and team success, along with other factors, and will be released on Tuesday of every week. Players will be assessed via the box scores entered on MCLA.us, and only statistics posted prior to noon EST on Mondays will be considered. Coaches may also submit their nomination by the same deadline to [email protected]. Only nominations from coaches will be considered.
