ATLANTA – After sparking No. 6 Georgia Tech to a pair of comfortable victories over Top 20 programs, junior attackman Brian Connolly has earned the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour for the period ending Feb. 21.

On Friday evening, Connolly netted a hat trick and dished out five assists as the Yellow Jackets raced out to a 13-1 lead over No. 12 Boston College, eventually coasting to an 18-5 victory. Two days later, Connolly scored a pair of goals and set up four others as the Ramblin’ Wreck surged past No. 16 Liberty, 15-7.

“Our reputation is based on our defense, but Brian showed we aren’t just a one-trick pony,” said Georgia Tech coach Ken Lovic. “He is a premium playmaker who drives our offense. He had a great weekend and we’ll need that to continue throughout the spring.”

For his efforts in earning the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour, Connolly will receive a new Under Armour Command Head. Under Armour is the proud sponsor of the MCLA.

UNDER ARMOUR HONOR ROLL

Alex Dixon, Fr., UC Santa Barbara – The Gauchos beat No. 23 UNLV 19-14 and they needed all 11 of Dixon’s markers to pull it off. Yes, that’s correct. Eleven.

Wes Greason, Jr., Chapman – The attackman started the weekend with four goals and three helpers against No. 14 Sonoma before cashing in for a goal and two assists against No. 24 Cal.

Dmitri Pecunes, Sr., South Carolina – Facing No. 18 Florida State on Saturday, Pecunes made 21 saves and posted a 61.8 save percentage to help the Gamecocks hold on for a 15-13 victory.

Rob Peeters, Fr., Florida – The Gators tripped up a South Carolina team ranked higher than Florida in the SELC poll thanks to five goals and two assists from Peeters. UF is now 2-0 on the season.

Sean Pihl, Jr., Cal Poly – The Mustangs nearly pulled off an impressive desert sweep, and Pihl did his part. He made 16 saves in a 5-4 win over No. 3 Arizona State before stopping 17 more in a triple overtime loss to No. 9 Grand Canyon.
