UC Davis’ Mousali Earns D-II Weekly Award

UC Davis’ Mousali Earns D-II Weekly Award

February 16th, 2016 General News | Concordia | Lawrence Tech | Mo. State | UC Davis | Dayton

ATLANTA – After racking up eight goals and seven assists in two games, including an upset victory over No. 22 Portland on Saturday, UC Davis senior attackman Tarek Mousali has been named the winner of the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour for the period ending Feb. 14.

The Aggies took care of the 22nd-ranked Pilots behind five goals and two assists from Mousali. The Pleasanton, Calif., native accounted for half of UC Davis’ production in the 14-9 triumph. The next day, Mousali tacked on a hat trick and five helpers in a 15-4 victory over Humboldt (Calif.) State. He also grabbed six ground balls in the two games.

“Tarek was one of the big reasons our team had such great success on the field this past weekend,” said UC Davis coach Frank Resetarits. “He's really worked on evolving his skill set to be a complete player and having seven points against a nationally-ranked team really shows the steps his game has taken this spring. I'm excited to see how his game continues to progress and how our team continues to develop into a well-rounded unit."

For his efforts in earning the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour, Mousali will receive a new Under Armour Command Head. Under Armour is the proud sponsor of the MCLA.

Michael Glaser, Soph., Dayton – The top-ranked Flyers got a big scare against Lawrence Tech, but Glaser netted a hat trick – including the game-winner in double overtime – and set up three other goals.
