Boston College Grabs PCLL Top Seed

Boston College Grabs PCLL Top Seed

April 26th, 2016 General News | Boston College | Buffalo

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Boston College rolls into this weekend’s PCLL tournament as the No.1 seed. The Eagles took care of business over the past two weeks with wins over Buffalo, New Hampshire in the annual Red Bandana Game and Northeastern, finishing 5-0 in league play.

“After our Arizona trip, we needed to re-focus our team defense and become more aggressive in league play,” said Boston College coach Peter Sessa.

BC has done just that, reducing its goals against from 11 per game to 6.5 in the past eight games.

On the offensive side, Boston College boasts ten players with 10 or more points so far this season. The trio of Lawson Pisani, Kevin Sheridan and Grant Van Fossan have combined for 26 goals and 12 assists over the past three games.

Going into the playoffs, the Eagles hope to lean on their senior leadership. Senior midfielder Eddie Richardson has amassed 92 ground balls to date, which is astounding when you consider BC played nine top 25 teams during the regular season.

BC will tackle Buffalo in the first PCLL semifinal game Saturday April 30 at 4 p.m. at Brown University. The other semifinal will feature UNH against Connecticut. The PCLL final will take place on Sunday at 3 p.m.
