Pitt’s Bullitt Has Top D-I Performance

Pitt’s Bullitt Has Top D-I Performance

April 5th, 2016 General News | Boston College | Grand Canyon | California | Colorado | Oregon | Pittsburgh

ATLANTA – After helping Pittsburgh to a 2-0 weekend, including a stunning overtime victory against No. 20 Davenport, freshman midfielder Dan Bullitt has earned the Division I Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour for the period ending April 3.

Facing CCLA rival Davenport – a team that beat the Panthers by 11 goals in their last meeting – Pitt managed to push the game to overtime helped by Bullitt’s four goals. It was the Media, Pa., product’s fifth goal that made all the difference in the Panthers 16-15 upset.

On Sunday, Bullitt helped Pitt pick up a key non-conference victory over Buffalo, 16-9, with a goal and an assist.

“Dan has been a great addition to our team this year,” said Pittsburgh coach Jason Rickel. “He played smart, aggressive, and took the opportunities that he was given to show what he is capable. He was clutch for us this weekend, especially in our win over Davenport. We got a great player in Dan, and we will look for him to pace the midfield for years to come.”

For his efforts in earning the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour, Bullitt will receive a new Under Armour Command Head. Under Armour is the proud sponsor of the MCLA.

Max McKone, Jr., Cal-Berkeley – In a key conference matchup with Sonoma State, McKone struck for four goals and set up a fifth, helping the Golden Bears post a 12-11 win over the No. 21 Seawolves.

Ben Wharton, Soph., Colorado – Wharton entered the weekend with one assist on the year, but in a pair of wins he dished out seven dimes. He also scored a pair of goals for nine total points.

Lawson Pisani, Fr., Boston College – The Eagles took down No. 17 UConn midweek thanks to a goal and three assists from Pisani. He chipped in with four goals and two dimes in a Sunday rout of Texas A&M.
