D-I Poll: Georgia Tech Faces Tests

March 29th, 2017 General News | Georgia Tech | Arizona | Arizona State | Boise State | Boston College | BYU | Cal Poly | California | Chapman | Colorado | Colorado State | Connecticut | Florida State | Grand Canyon | Liberty | Michigan State | Minnesota | Oregon | Oregon State | San Diego State | South Carolina | UC Santa Barbara | UNLV | Utah | Virginia Tech

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech has successful defending its No. 1 ranking in the Under Armour MCLA Division Coaches Poll several times already, but this weekend will feature the stiffest test to its supremacy when the Yellow Jackets head to the Rockies.

On the docket this weekend is a game against No. 5 Colorado in Boulder on Friday evening followed the next day by a contest against No. 10 Colorado State in Fort Collins. If the Ramblin’ Wreck defends the ranking, it will be relatively clear sailing ahead.

California, which grabbed four of the 24 first place votes, continued in second place as they remain undefeated. Grand Canyon, Brigham Young and the Buffaloes fill out the first five.

Friday night’s SLC South showdown between No. 8 and the No. 3 Lopes is game of note along with Sunday’s rematch of last year’s national championship game between No. 6 Cal Poly and No. 9 Chapman in San Luis Obispo.

Sonoma State exited the poll this week to open a spot for the re-entrance of Minnesota, which checked in at No. 24.
