GaTech Releases Sked, Captains

December 4th, 2017 General News | Georgia Tech

ATLANTA -- Fresh of its second trip to the national semifinals in as many years, the Georgia Tech men's lacrosse team has released its captains for the spring and the schedule they will play.

Senior defender C.J. Norrell, junior defender Brian Duffy and junior attackman Tim Peterson have been voted to lead the Yellow Jackets in hopes of grabbing another SELC championship and a bid to the 2018 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour.

"We are excited and anxious for the 2018 season." said Georgia Tech coach Ken Lovic. "We lost a great senior class a year ago and we are ready to throw our young team into the fire to see if they can stand the heat."

The Georgia Tech schedule will consist of 14 opponents with 10 of the games coming at the Yellow Jackets home venue in Atlanta. In total, there are five games against teams that qualified for nationals last year and seven against squads ranked in the final Top 25 coaches poll.

"It is a challenging schedule we embrace," Lovic said. "We love the diversity of the schedule with five conferences other than our own represented. And all national championship caliber teams. We have always been a great meeting spot for teams with our solid facilities and usual early season warm weather to gather some top teams from around the nation. This year is no different."
