NDSU’s Simpson Has Top Performance

NDSU’s Simpson Has Top Performance

February 20th, 2018 General News | NDSU | Biola | HSU | Montana | Southeastern Louisiana | St. Thomas

ATLANTA – After sparking the North Dakota State offense to an impressive victory over No. 7 Minn.-Duluth, Bison junior attackman Noah Simpson earned the MCLA Division II Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour for the period ending Feb. 18.

Hosting the Bulldogs in a huge UMLC-II West division matchup, the revamped North Dakota State offense was going to need a catalyst and found it in Simpson.

The Eagan, Minn., product scored four goals and dished out an assist as the Bison rallied from an early deficit to take down Minn.-Duluth, 11-5.

This was Simpson’s first game as an attackman after transitioning from midfield where he played the past two seasons. He was also critical in the NDSU 10-man ride that held the Bulldogs to 60 percent on clears.

“Noah stepped up and helped fill the void that was left from losing our two All-American attackmen from 2017,” said NDSU coach Zach Bosh. “Noah was a focal point of our offense and his play was a large part in our team win.”

For his efforts in earning the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour, Simpson will receive a new Under Armour Command Head – a $100 value. Under Armour is the proud sponsor of the MCLA.
