ROHNERT PARK, Calif. - The Sonoma State men's lacrosse team nabbed wins over Utah Valley (12-9) and San Diego State (13-7) over the weekend in a pair of games featuring eight different goal scorers and an impressive 67.0 save percentage from freshman goalie Jackson Feinstein.

On Saturday, Sonoma battled Utah Valley at Dominican University in San Rafael and the Seawolves started a little slow. UVU was able to grab a 1-0 lead out of the gate, but the Seawolves came roaring back, ending the first quarter with a 5-2 lead.

Sonoma sustained that momentum into the second quarter, extending the lead to 7-2. Utah Valley continued to fight and the teams traded goals as the game finished 12-9 in favor of the Seawolves.

The Seawolves were led on offense by Brent Tovrea (1g, 4a) and Spencer O'Reilly (3g, 2a). Feinstein made 18 saves in the win.

Sunday's contest against the Aztecs was a back and forth affair in the first half, with both teams taking advantages of the other team's mistakes.

Sonoma held a slim, 5-4 at the half, but the Seawolves separated themselves in the third quarter by jumping out to a 8-5 lead. They never looked back, outscoring the Aztecs 8-3 in the second half for the 13-7 triumph.

The Seawolves were led on offense by Tovrea (3g, 1a) and Angelo Lagomarsino (2g, 2a). Feinstein again made his presence known in the cage, making 14 saves.

"We played blue collar lacrosse this weekend," said Sonoma State coach Panchito Ojeda. "We are an extremely young team and it is great to see these young men working hard to do the little things right. Our defensive unit gave a superb effort. Our boys played with exceptional toughness and energy we can all be proud of. ow we must prepare for Florida and Michigan State coming to town next week."

Sonoma State will play Florida on Sunday, March 4, and Michigan State on Tuesday, March 6.
