ATLANTA – After leading Colorado Denver to a ranked victory and keeping its undefeated record, Lynx senior Beau Ecksten earned MCLA Division II Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour for the period ending April 1.

In a tour de force against No. 24 MSU Denver, Ecksten scored five goals and dished out three assists in the Lynx’s 16-15 victory.

The Fishers, Ind., native and Culver Military Academy product also dominated the faceoff X. He won 27-of-34 of the draws (79.4%) he took on the day while also gobbling up 20 ground balls.

With the Lynx clinging to a one goal lead with just under a minute left, Ecksten won the faceoff and calmly kicked it off for the clear that clinched the game and improved CU Denver to 6-0.

“Beau's dominance at the faceoff circle, currently 87 percent on the season, allows our team to out-possess our opponents and gives us the ability to run a patient offense,” said CU Denver coach Jonathan Harris. “His knowledge of the game and his love for the game rubs off on the rest of the team.”

For his efforts in earning the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour, Ecksten will receive a new Under Armour Command Head – a $100 value. Under Armour is the proud sponsor of the MCLA.
