Chapman Leads MCLA Division I Bracket

ATLANTA – With an unblemished record and a Southwestern Lacrosse Conference (SLC) championship, Chapman has been awarded the top seed in the 2018 MCLA Division I National Championships powered by Under Armour.

The Panthers (13-0), who have played in the last two national championship games with a title in ’16, will face No. 16 seed Indiana (10-2), the automatic qualifier out of the Upper Midwest Lacrosse Conference (UMLC).

2018 MCLA DIVISION I CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKET

Utah (15-0), the only other undefeated team in Division I, was slotted in the second seed where it will face the champion of the Lone Star Alliance, Texas A&M (11-3)

The SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference (SELC) placed four teams in the bracket in No. 5 South Carolina (16-1), No. 6 Virginia Tech (12-4), No. 9 Liberty (8-5) and No. 12 Georgia Tech (10-5).

The Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference (RMLC) had three teams with No. 4 Colorado (11-3) and No. 7 Brigham Young (14-3) joining Utah. They joined the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference, which had No. 8 Concordia-Irvine (12-2) and No. 10 Grand Canyon (9-3) joining Chapman.

The 2018 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour begins on Monday, May 7, with the first round followed by Tuesday’s quarterfinals. The semifinals will be held on Thursday followed by Saturday’s championship games.

All games will be held at the Salt Lake City Regional Athletic Complex with every game streamed live via Prodigy Media. Please visit the MCLA’s National Championship page for details on game times, tickets, lodging and other needs.
