NDSU’s Bosh Named Coach of Year

NDSU’s Bosh Named Coach of Year

May 22nd, 2018 General News | NDSU

ATLANTA – After guiding North Dakota State to its first-ever Division II national championship this spring, the Bison’s Zach Bosh has been named the Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) Coach of the year for MCLA Division II.

Bosh will receive his Coach of the Year plaque at the annual IMLCA convention, which is held in early December in Baltimore.

With Bosh at the wheel, the Bison finished the season with a 12-2 mark after rolling past Central Conn. State, Montana State, Minn.-Duluth and top-seeded St. Thomas for the title at the 2018 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour.

North Dakota State’s only two losses came to St. Thomas in the regular season and the UMLC conference tournament, but Bosh helped the Bison win the most important matchup with the Tommmies in the MCLA finals.

“This award is really a testament to all the work this whole staff puts in,” Bosh said. “I could never do it without them. Thank you Jeff [McCormack], Brian [Hoy], Matt [Melchior] and Andrew [Madsen]. You guys are the real Coaches of the Year.”

Bosh finishes his ninth year with NDSU, posting a 90-41 career record with a 34-12 regular season mark in the UMLC and an 11-7 record in MCLA tournament play.
