SDSU Releases Fall Ball Schedule

SDSU Releases Fall Ball Schedule

October 8th, 2018 General News | San Diego State

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State men’s lacrosse team celebrated one of its best seasons in 2018, making the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference playoffs for the second time in program history.

The Aztecs are now ready to take the next step: becoming an elite MCLA program. To achieve this goal, they have scheduled a challenging fall ball slate.

SDSU graduates four starters from last year’s squad and brings back a ton of talent, including senior Adrian Jeffries and junior Patrick Greene.

There are also a lot of new faces on campus. The Aztecs welcomed their largest and most diverse class to campus with 23 freshmen from 12 different states (Calif., Ariz., Ore., Wash., Ill., N.J., N.Y., Pa., Va., R.I., Md. and Conn.) and Alberta.

“The goal this fall is to get all our players to gel on and off the field, get the freshmen experience playing at the collegiate level and learn how to play within the new rules,” said SDSU coach Jesse Foss.

The fall schedule is highlighted by contests against several post-collegiate club teams. These post-collegiate rosters are filled with current MLL players, as well as former NCAA and MCLA standouts. These games will serve as great preparation for the talented teams SDSU will face in the spring.

The second annual Red-Black Game will kick off Alumni weekend on Saturday, Oct. 20. Last year, more than 60 alumni from the past 41 years showed up to participate, and the club is expecting another great turnout.

The Aztecs will host 2018 MCLA runner-up Chapman, as well as UCLA, USC, and SBCC on Saturday, Oct. 27 for a one-day tournament. This will be the first chance to compete against other MCLA programs.

San Diego State will conclude their fall season competing in the Las Vegas Showcase on Saturday, Nov. 10.
