UCSB’s Brydon Named Goalie of Week

UCSB’s Brydon Named Goalie of Week

February 19th, 2019 General News | Arkansas | UC Santa Barbara | USC

ATLANTA – After standing tall in goal in the Gauchos upset of No. 3 Brigham Young on Saturday afternoon, UC Santa Barbara senior netminder Peter Brydon has earned Pearls’ Goalie of the Week honors for the period ending Feb. 17.

The San Carlos, Calif., product made 24 saves, allowing UCSB to rally from an early deficit and pull away for the 13-10 victory.

It was the Gauchos first win over the Cougars since 2006.

“Pete has been a leader and a difference maker throughout his career and had another game-changing performance this weekend,” said UCSB coach Mike Allan. “He has a completely new defense in front of him, but they are improving every week with Pete’s leadership. He’s been the hardest worker on our team since his freshman year and he’s everything a coach could ask for in a captain.”

For his efforts in earning the Pearl’s Performance of the Week, Brydon will receive a prize package from Guardian Pearl, a ball that lasts longer than the rest and never greases. Guardian Pearl is the proud partner of the MCLA.
