Dayton’s White Has Command Performance

March 12th, 2019 General News | College of Idaho | Dayton | Kennesaw State | Minn-Duluth | Seattle | Western Oregon

ATLANTA – After leading his team to three ranked wins at Music City Judgement II over the weekend, Dayton senior attackman Sam White earned MCLA Division II Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour for the period ending March 10.

The Flyers opened the weekend on Friday against No. 9 Florida Gulf Coast and thanks to two goals and two assists from White, Dayton cruised, 16-4.

The Pittsburgh product followed that up on Saturday with a hat trick and two helpers in a 17-5 victory over No. 16 Central Conn. State.

In the event finale against No. 2 St. Thomas, White had another hat trick and an assist as the Flyers stunned the Tommies, 12-9.

In total, White had eight goals, five assists, seven ground balls and six caused turnovers on the ride.

“He was the vocal and emotional leader of the offense and played more minutes than anyone on that end of the field,” said Dayton coach Joe Venturella. “He really set the tone for our team. He’s a captain, and he definitely took that role seriously this weekend.”

For his efforts in earning the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour, White will receive a new Under Armour Command Head – a $100 value. Under Armour is the proud sponsor of the MCLA.
