Montana’s Tubbs Has Top Performance

March 19th, 2019 General News | Appalachian State | Minn-Duluth | Montana | San Diego | UC Santa Cruz | UNC-Charlotte

ATLANTA – After guiding the Grizzlies to a pair of important conference victories, Montana junior midfielder Trent Tubbs has earned MCLA Division II Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour for the period ending March 19.

Montana opened the weekend at Central Washington and the Trabuco Canyon, Calif., product led the Grizzlies to a 16-6 win with five goals and a dime.

Tubbs closed out the weekend with three assists in a 9-5 win against Gonzaga. He also combined for five ground balls in the two triumphs.

“Trent played lights out and was instrumental in getting our offense going in two big conference wins,” said Montana coach Tucker Sargent. “We had a number of players go down and Trent stepped up and played all over the field – both middie and attack – and brought vision and scoring to our offense when other guys were laid up.

“We expect Trent to do this during every game, but with a shorter bench and less rest, he really helped make a difference through his tough play and leadership on the field for us during a very important weekend.”

For his efforts in earning the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour, Tubbs will receive a new Under Armour Command Head – a $100 value. Under Armour is the proud sponsor of the MCLA.
