SELC-II Unveils Award Winners

SELC-II Unveils Award Winners

April 29th, 2019 General News | Appalachian State | Charleston | FAU | FGCU | Georgia Southern | Kennesaw State | North Florida | UNC-Charlotte

ATLANTA – This was probably the deepest year that the SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference (SELC) Division II has had, and it showed in the postseason accolades handed out by the conference over the weekend in Johns Creek, Ga.

Four different programs were represented in the individual award winners while the all-conference teams showed a similar balance.

Leading the way for conference champion North Florida was Offensive Player of the Year Jason Randolph, who was also one of three Ospreys on the first team.

Florida Gulf Coast goalie Austin Cotton was the Defensive Player of the Year, and was one of four Eagles on the top squad.

College of Charleston FOGO Jon Knox was the SELC Specialist of the Year and one of eight Cougars who were present on one of the four all-conference teams.

Dylan Polanski of Kennesaw State was the Rookie of the Year. The Owls had a total of nine representatives.

Lastly, UNC-Charlotte was honored with the Coaching Staff of the Year honors. Led by head man Daniel Ryan, the 49ers put together a 9-3 campaign. Charlotte had four players on the first team.
