FAU Names Neocleous Head Coach

FAU Names Neocleous Head Coach

September 4th, 2019 General News | FAU

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men’s lacrosse program is pleased to announce the hiring of Stavros Neocleous as its next head coach beginning with the 2020 season.

Coach Neocleous has a wealth of coaching experience at various levels, including several years as varsity offensive coordinator and junior varsity head coach at Lawton Chiles High School in Tallahassee, coaching at the Florida State Prospects Camp, youth elite and travel teams including RAW Lacrosse, and coaching numerous clinics throughout the state.

“I am very excited to continue to build the FAU lacrosse program and help create the kind of winning culture that will keep this team in playoff contention for years to come,” Neocleous said.

As a player, Neocleous was a member of both the Florida State University lacrosse team and the Greek National Lacrosse team.

“We’re thrilled to bring Coach Neocleous onboard,” said Chris Fantaccione, the club’s operations director. “He brings a fresh perspective and a commitment to taking the Florida Atlantic lacrosse program to the next level.”

Neocleous takes over an Owls squad that finished 6-3 in 2019 and narrowly missed qualifying for a return trip to the SELC tournament.
