TCU Announces Captains

TCU Announces Captains

October 16th, 2019 General News | Texas Christian

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The Texas Christian men's lacrosse team is pleased to announce that it will have five captains for the 2020 campaign.

Juniors Brody Cummins, Michael Fogerty, Andrew Miller and Spencer Vierra along with sophomore Trey Mahla have been selected to lead the Horned Frogs this spring.

Cummings, who hails from Cherry Creek, Colo., had a 60.5 save percentage in cage for TCU last spring in six games. Fogerty, a Los Gatos, Calif., product, had 14 goals and nine assists out of the midfield in 2019.

Miller, a native of Eagan, Minn., led the Horned Frogs in scoring last year with 19 goals and 12 assists as a sophomore midfielder. Mahla, a Gold River, Calif., product, had a solid freshman year at midfield, finishing with eight goals, seven dimes and 27 ground balls.

Vierra, a native of Poway, Calif., had seven ground balls and a goal last year out of the midfield.

"As a unit, the coaches, captains and vice presidents provide the vision, strategy and set the foundation of the team’s chemistry," said TCU coach Mark Purcell. "We look to the TCU captains to lead by example, communicate effectively, have a positive attitude and step up in the clutch."
