Senior Thank You: Louisiana

Senior Thank You: Louisiana

April 19th, 2020 General News | Louisiana

LAFAYETTE, La.— The senior class of 2020 had their season stolen from them.

For reasons outside of their control, they will never be able to pursue goals for which they worked so hard.

As part of a recurring segment for the remainder of this spring, coaches have the opportunity to thank their seniors one last time.

With only three games left in the regular season, we received the dreaded news we all had been expecting.

Our team did not want to believe it because we knew that the seniors’ season would be lost. Many of us did not want to believe it was real, and it took some time before the reality of this virus really hit us.

Nevertheless, our final season as Cajuns was lost, but the fantastic memories and life-long friends we have made along this journey will never be forgotten.

The Senior Class of 2020 has been here for the good times and the bad. From winning the LSA D-II championship in 2017 to having 14 players on the roster only two seasons later.

This year things felt as if they were turning around for the better. We had to go through some difficult transitions such as: a coaching change, a giant freshman class, and a hotel situation we don't really want to think about.

The Seniors all helped lead a great freshman class into their first season. As soon as the season was called off, we were just hitting our stride as a team.

All the players that are returning the next year will be in a better position to succeed thanks to the camaraderie our team built this year.

Thank you to these seniors for all you have done for Ragin' Cajun lacrosse:
