LOS ANGELES - The senior class of 2020 had their season stolen from them.

For reasons outside of their control, they will never be able to pursue goals for which they worked so hard.

As part of a recurring segment for the remainder of this spring, coaches have the opportunity to thank their seniors one last time.

Continuing the series is USC coach Jake Van Nostrand honoring his nine seniors.

Despite not being able to finish off the current season, the USC senior class of 2020 had one of the most successful careers of any Trojan graduating class.

“This class will really be missed,” said USC coach Jake Van Nostrand. “They have been such a huge part of the recent growth of the program during their four years. They stepped up and took accountability as sophomores after a tough freshman season and continued to lead and show the younger guys what needs to be done to be a quality team.

We could have never taken the steps we have as a program without these great young men. I’m sad to see them go but excited to see what they will accomplish next.”

In their four years, this senior class was able to have back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in program history as well as the first time the team was ranked in the Top 25 and the Top 15.

They have also put in a lot of work for USC lacrosse off the field as leaders and team board members, building the foundation for the program to continue to grow and succeed.

“I am so proud of these guys,” added Van Nostrand. “It’s really tough to see the season end the way it did for all players everywhere, but I feel terrible for our guys to not be able to finish off what could have been the best season yet for USC.

“I hope our seniors all realize that what they have done here, and the ground work they have laid makes them a part of any future achievements USC has as well. They say you should leave something better than the way you found it. These guys did just that with the program. Thank you, senior class of 2020!”
