Senior Thank You: Texas

Senior Thank You: Texas

May 1st, 2020 General News | Texas

AUSTIN, Texas — The senior class of 2020 had their season stolen from them.

For reasons outside of their control, they will never be able to pursue goals for which they worked so hard.

As part of a recurring segment for the remainder of this spring, coaches have the opportunity to thank their seniors one last time.

Continuing the series is Texas coach Seth Bokmeyer honoring his eight seniors.

This is a very special group of young men. They have meant so much to our program and to me personally.

They bought into the culture we started to create when they were freshmen, and they have set the example throughout their time on the 40 Acres.

They are all great players, but as good as they are on the field, they are even better persons off the field.

This group is dedicated to the program, each other and their teammates.

As an example, four of these seniors could not play last year; two were rehabbing an injury and two had academic requirements that forced them to miss last spring.

All four players made the decision to come back to the team, and along with their classmates, were totally dedicated to creating something special this year.

This group brought both leadership and a vision of what they wanted this program to be. They worked hard both on and off the field to build this program for the present and for the future.

We would be excited to have all of them come back to use their extra year of eligibility, but they have worked incredibly hard in the classroom to create great opportunities for themselves in the ‘real world’.

Some are headed off to work in prestigious companies in the financial, accounting and engineering sectors while others will be attending law school or graduate school. There is no doubt that they all will be successful in their careers.

I can’t thank them enough for what they did for Texas lacrosse and I will miss being around them. They will always be part of the Texas lacrosse family!
