Clemson Seeks Asst. Head Coach

CLEMSON, S.C. -- The Clemson men's lacrosse team has opened their search for an assistant head coach for the 2021-2022 season.

This job will eventually turn into a head coaching position following the completion of the 2022 spring season when legendary head coach, Buff Grubb, announces his official retirement from the MCLA.

This job will offer the opportunity to learn under and work with Buff Grubb and the rest of the coaching staff before taking the reins for the 2023 season. Coach Grubb has recently led Clemson to the semifinals of the MCLA Invitational and has been a staple of the Clemson program since 2005.

The members of Clemson Lacrosse take great interest in the team and show a high level of commitment to the program. We are looking for a Coach that can reciprocate this culture.

Desired Coaching Qualifications
- Past Coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level
- Past playing experience at the collegiate level
- Education: High School Degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred

Requirements for the Job
- Able to attend practice 3 times a week in the Fall and 3-4 times a week in the Spring
- Able to travel on weekends for away games (Friday-Sunday)
- This also includes a plane trip one weekend that leaves Thursday and returns Sunday
- Create productive and efficient practice plans
- Keeping up with MCLA requirements and news
- Scout opposing teams and develop game plans
- Maintaining relationships with opposing team Head Coaches
- Work with the Officers Board on the logistics and intricacies of the season

- Serves as a leader for the team
- Experienced and Knowledgeable about the game of Lacrosse
- Tools to help players advance and hone their skills
- Passionate about the game and a desire to win
