MCLA Unveils 2022 Nationals Logo

MCLA Unveils 2022 Nationals Logo

August 19th, 2021 General News

ATLANTA – The Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA), the preeminent non-varsity league in the country, is pleased to release its logo for the 2022 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance.

The event will be held from May 9-14 at the Round Rock (Texas) Multipurpose Complex

The logo is the creation of graphic designer Chandler Wescott. A former two-time All-American at Brigham Young, Wescott produced both the 2020 and 2021 championship logo, as well. The 2022 logo is an updated version of the unused logo from 2021.

“I wanted the logo to reflect the values of Texas,” said Wescott. “The shield and bold strokes represent strength, while the colors and typeface speak to the western culture that is predominant in Texas.

“I am excited to follow this upcoming season and happy that I could be a part of the tournament and celebrate going back to a more normal year of lacrosse.”

The competition in Round Rock will be the MCLA’s fourth championship in the Lone Star state. The 2006 (Plano), 2007 (Frisco) and 2008 (Farmer’s Branch/Irving) were held in the Dallas area. The 2021 MCLA Invitational – which was not a national championship – was held in Round Rock this past spring.

“Just seeing a logo for the 2022 nationals brings hope and excitement,” said MCLA president Ken Lovic. “We’ve tried to make the best of the last two years, but now it’s time to get back to a great season capped by championship lacrosse.”

The logo package has been sent to the MCLA Conference Directors. Contact your respective director to receive it.
