ATLANTA – After leading Brigham Young to a come-from-behind victory over the second-ranked team in the country, Cougar freshman attackman Alton Taylor has been tabbed the MCLA Division I Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending March 20.

With No. 2 Concordia-Irvine in town, Brigham Young needed a boost from their rookie out of American Fork, Utah, and they got it.

Taylor potted five goals against the Eagles, including a pair of huge markers as the Cougars rallied from a second-half deficit to post the 12-11 victory.

He also gobbled up three ground balls on the day.

"Alton Taylor is a gritty, hard-working, never-quit lacrosse player who respects the game, his teammates, and his opponents,” said Brigham Young coach Matt Schneck. “And does it all with a positive attitude and a smile on his face.

“He has stepped up multiple times this year in big games and consistently complements the offense with his style of play. He has a bright future with the Cougs and in the MCLA."

For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Taylor will receive a Warrior Burn XP-O – a $100 value – for his efforts. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
