ATLANTA – The Virginia Tech juggernaut rolled to two more ranked wins thanks to Hokies junior attackman Aidan Smith, who was named the MCLA Division I Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 26.

Virginia Tech opened the weekend against No. 19 Colorado State and thanks to four goals and a dime from the Potomac Falls, Va., product, the Hokies rolled to the 18-6 triumph.

The next day, Tech entertained No. 18 Colorado in Blacksburg and again Smith delivered. He potted six goals as the Hokies rolled to a 16-6 triumph.

For the weekend, Smith amassed 10 goals and a helper.

“Aidan does a terrific job controlling our pace and quarterbacking the offense,” said Virginia Tech coach Panchito Ojeda. “When he is not scoring, he is distributing the ball and creating opportunities for his teammates.

“He is a team-first, culture-first type of guy and fits our program very well.”

For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Smith will receive a Warrior EVO QX-O – a $100 value – for his efforts. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.

Blake Driscoll, Fr. – Arizona State
In wins over UCLA and USC, the Las Vegas product won 29-of-33 faceoffs (87.9 percent) while also gobbling up 20 ground balls.

Zak Fanhauser, Jr. – Utah Valley
The attackman from Draper, Utah, buried seven goals and set up four others in a 2-0 southeastern swing for the Wolverines.

Jerett Gaeger, Sr. – West Virginia
The Mountaineers rolled to a 3-0 weekend thanks to three goals – including the OT game-winner against Indiana – and nine dimes from the Charleston, W.V., product.

Will Geary, Soph. – Liberty
The middie from Burnsville, Minn., connected for two goals and a dime against Colorado before dropping five genos against Colorado State.

Chad McFadden, Jr. – Concordia
The Trabuco Canyon, Calif., native set the record for goals (10) and points (12) in a game during the Eagles wipeout of Cal Poly.

Aidan McNulty, Fr. - Clemson
In a 1-1 weekend, the Huntington, N.Y., rookie combined for eight goals and a dime against James Madison and Georgia Tech.

Devin Raun, Sr. - Georgia Tech
The senior attackman from Marlborough, Mass., amassed seven goals and two assists in wins over South Carolina and Clemson.

Jordan Roberts, Sr. – Simon Fraser
The British Columbia standout dropped five goals and six assists against Nevada before dropping two more markers against Santa Clara.

Austin Trimble, Sr. – Georgia
The Bulldogs dispatched Alabama thanks in part to the Charlotte long pole who racked up four caused turnovers and four ground balls.

Dylan Vita, Sr. – Washington
The Ravensdale, Wash., middie won 75 percent of his draws while racking a hat trick, three dimes and seven ground balls against Oregon State.

Dylan Weinberg, Soph. – Florida
The Miami product set a personal record with four goals in the Gators’ 16-9 road victory over Auburn.
