So. Carolina’s Reilly Named Player of Week

So. Carolina’s Reilly Named Player of Week

April 4th, 2023 General News | Arizona | Auburn | Cal Poly | Georgia | South Carolina | Temple | Tennessee | Utah Valley

ATLANTA – After leading South Carolina to another victory over a top-ranked opponent, Gamecock senior attackman Patrick Reilly is the MCLA Division I Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending April 2.

South Carolina hosted No. 1 Liberty on Friday night in Columbia and thanks to six goals and a pair of dimes from the Garden City, N.Y., product, the Gamecocks posted the 12-10 triumph.

Reilly also chipped in with a trio of ground balls.

Two weeks ago, when South Carolina dropped previous No. 1 Virginia Tech, Reilly delivered four goals and three assists.

“Pat is the spark on our offense,” said South Carolina coach Peter Candela. “He is charismatic and brings an attitude with an edge when he plays and it gets our entire team to rally behind him. He is averaging nearly five points per game and has a knack for stepping up in big games.

“Having to fill large shoes left behind from last year’s lefty, he has easily stepped in and made an impact. He is an extreme competitor who challenges himself as well as others on our team and we are lucky to have him.”

For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Reilly will receive a Warrior EVO QX-O – a $100 value – for his efforts. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
