ATLANTA – Montana State rolled to three ranked victories at the Rocky Mountain Rumble thanks to the play of Bobcats freshman attackman Liam Prescott, who was named the MCLA Division II Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 19.

Montana State opened the weekend by knocking off No. 3 Cal State San Marcos – a national semifinalist in ’23 – thanks to a trio of assists and a pair of ground balls from the Hampstead, N.H., product.

Next up was No. 10 Missouri State and Prescott continued his hot streak, scoring two goals while setting up four others in the 12-2 victory. He also gobbled up a pair of ground balls.

The Bobcats capped the weekend in Denver with a victory over No. 11 UC San Diego when Prescott scored two goals, dished out an assist and snagged three ground balls.

For the weekend, he amassed four goals, eight assists and seven GBs.

“It was an impressive showing by a freshman against top-tier competition,” said Montana State coach Chris Kelley. “Liam was an integral part of a relentless ride, causing multiple turnovers as a squad all weekend long.

“Liam just has come into our program and has made his mark on the field starting with a 40 percent shooting percentage to start his college career.”

For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Prescott will receive a Warrior Burn XP2-O – a $120 value. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
