ATLANA – Wake Forest won four games in the span of 26 hours over the weekend thanks to the play of Demon Deacons sophomore attackman Logan Reynolds, who was named the MCLA Division II Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 4.

Wake Forest opened the weekend on Saturday with a double-dip against Georgia Southern and North Florida. The Evanston, Ill., native buried four markers along with a dime against the Eagles before following with four more points (2g, 2a) versus the Osprey.

On Sunday, the Deacons tackled both conference foe Charleston as well as Citadel. Reynolds cashed in for a hat trick and two helpers against the Cougars before completing the four-game run with four goals and an assist against the Bulldogs.

For the weekend, Reynolds amassed 13 goals to go along with six assists.

“We had lots of questions about who would step up and be a leader on such a young attack line and Logan answered those question, as both an initiator and a finisher,” said Wake Forest coach Brett Hewitt. “Logan allows our offense to be versatile. He’ll dodge from five spots and draw the double from all of them.”

“Being a true lefthanded player, Logan gives us that extra dimension that is hard to imitate. Logan is a player that looks like he is always playing at one speed. He is always in control. He has a calm, patient demeanor and he plays the same way.

“He has amazing stick protection and will work against his defender to methodically draw the double team or free his hands. Logan scored in just about every way possible this weekend. He scored from deep, on the man-up, got to the goal on demand, and had the goal of the weekend behind the back in transition.”

In a pair of opening-season wins for the Hurricanes, the midfielder struck for a combined seven goals and 11 assists.

Kiernan Holmes, Soph. – St. Thomas
The defenseman, a Jacksonville transfer, had a strong debut with the Tommies, causing three turnovers and scooping up five GBs in a win over Iowa State.

Ryan Kerr, Gr. – Florida Atlantic
Playing against his former team, the Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., native scored three goals and set up two others in a 20-5 win over South Florida.

Max Malone, Fr. – Loyola Marymount
The rookie from Kentfield, Calif., won 13-of-17 draws (76.5 percent) while also tacking on a pair of goals and 10 ground balls in the Lions comfortable win against Biola.

John Schwegal, Jr. – Minn.-Duluth
The attackman from Richmond, Minn., came out firing, as he was involved in 80 percent of the Bulldogs’ output in a 10-7 victory over Iowa State.

Evan Suh, Fr. – Kennesaw State
The Suwanee, Ga., product led the Owls to a 1-1 weekend against Division I opposition, combing to post seven goals and three assists in his first collegiate action.
