FAU’s Kerr Named Warrior Player of Week

March 19th, 2024 General News | ACU | Coastal Carolina | College of Idaho | FAU | GVSU | NNU | San Jose State | Tulane | UNCW

ATLANTA – After propelling Florida Atlantic to a big conference victory while hitting a career milestone, Owls graduate attackman Ryan Kerr has been named the MCLA Division II Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending March 17.

Florida Atlantic entertained SELC South rival Tampa on Saturday and, thanks to eight goals and three assists from the Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., product, the Owls pulled out a 14-11 triumph.

Kerr finished by factoring in on nearly 60 percent of the team’s offensive output. He also chipped in with three ground balls.

The eight-goal performance also pushed Kerr past the 100-goal mark for his career.

“Ryan is the true embodiment of what you want in a teammate,” said Florida Atlantic coach Stavros Neocleous. “He doesn’t care who does the job as long as it gets done. On Saturday Ryan did the job. He created offense with his dodging and made the right decision with the ball.

“Ryan has fit in seamlessly with our group this year and we are proud to call him a captain and a leader. On or off the field, Ryan has proven to be a great asset to us.”

For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Kerr will receive a Warrior Burn XP2-O – a $120 value. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
