ATLANTA – After posting outstanding performances against premium competition during the month, Chapman’s Dave Apruzzese and Lourdes’ Dalton Vowles have been named US Lacrosse MCLA Players of the Month for March.

Apruzzese was the biggest gun in the potent attack for No. 1 Chapman. In the Panthers 9-0 March, the senior from West Chester, Pa., scored 25 goals along with 10 assists (3.9 ppg). Of the nine wins, seven of them came against teams ranked in the Under Armour Division I Coaches Poll at the time.

“Dave is a senior leader on our team and is one of the toughest players I've ever coached,” said Chapman coach Dallas Hartley. “He is great on ground balls and has no problem sacrificing his body. He has always been a great shooter, but he has become a double threat this season to score or pass. He had more assists this March than he did all of last season.”

Vowles, a senior from Toledo, Ohio, guided the No. 10 Gray Wolves to a 7-1 mark for the month with a staggering 54 points (6.8 ppg). In the four contests against ranked opponents, Vowles tallied 15 goals and six assists, including four markers against defending champion and then-No. 1 Dayton.

"Dalton is a tremendous asset to the Lourdes program and he has elevated his game lately,” said Lourdes coach Patrick Yannarelli. “Dalton has a natural talent and every day he comes to practice he is pushing himself and his teammates to get better. We are excited about the final push this year and watching how he finishes against some more very good CCLA competition."

For their efforts, both Apruzzese and Vowles will receive a one-year membership to US Lacrosse, the national governing body of the sport. Membership includes on-the-field insurance coverage, discounted tickets and apparel along with a subscription to Lacrosse Magazine.
