Baldwin Named DC at UW

September 22nd, 2016 General News | Washington

SEATTLE -- The University of Washington men's lacrosse team is excited to announce the hiring of Craig Baldwin as Huskies' defensive coordinator for the 2017 season.

A native of Baltimore, Md., Craig attended Archbishop Curley High School, where he was a two-sport athlete in wrestling and lacrosse. As a two-year starter at long-stick midfielder and defenseman, he led the Friars to multiple playoff appearances in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association 'B' conference. He was also selected as team captain and received the A. Craig Tillman Award as outstanding player and teammate as a senior.

Craig attended Stevenson (Md.) University from 2011-14, where he played defense for the Mustangs for three seasons. He was a member of Stevenson's 2013 NCAA Division III National Championship team.

Following graduation from Stevenson in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Baldwin developed his coaching experience at the middle school and high school level. Most recently, he coached the junior varsity program at his alma mater, Archbishop Curley, in 2016, where he instructed the defense and goalies, leading the team to an MIAA conference championship game appearance.

Baldwin will join head coach Jack Cerchiara, who enters his fifth year at the helm of the Huskies and ninth overall at UW. John Andrysiak has been promoted to assistant coach, where he will help oversee all aspects of the program..Drew Snider will return as offensive coordinator in his second season with the Huskies.
