Minnesota Trip on SNC Sked

Minnesota Trip on SNC Sked

October 18th, 2016 General News | Sierra Nevada

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - After back-to-back WCLL titles and two straight trips to the MCLA National Championship powered by Under Armour, the Sierra Nevada College men's lacrosse program will face it's toughest schedule to date in 2017.

The Eagles are slated to face six Top 25 teams during the regular season, five of which qualified for nationals. During spring break, SNC will travel to Minnesota to square-off against Minn.-Duluth and defending MCLA national champion St. Thomas.

Other season highlights include hosting to Concordia-Irvine and Montana State in a round-robin weekend; as well as a trip to the Central Coast to take on defending WCLL Division I champion and MCLA national runner-up Cal Poly.

"With two straight first-round exits in the national championship tournament, we knew that we had to go out and grab a schedule that would prepare us to make a deeper run into the postseason," said SNC coach Matt Blamey. "We've formulated a schedule that will challenge us immensely. We have a big senior class this year. I think our men are excited to be pushed to their limits."

The Eagles will open the season on the road against WCLL conference foe San Jose State on Feb. 11. The 2017 regular season will culminate on April 22 when St. Mary's travels to Lake Tahoe for SNC's Senior Game.
