Kennesaw Leads SELC-II Poll

November 3rd, 2016 General News | Appalachian State | Charleston | The Citadel | Coastal Carolina | Columbus St | Davidson | Emory | FAU | FGCU | Georgia Southern | Georgia State | Kennesaw State | PBA | UNC-Charlotte | Wake Forest | Wofford

ATLANTA -- Kennesaw State has made two straight trips to the MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour and the Owls are expected to make a third in 2017 after being tabbed the favorites to win the SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference (SELC) in the preseason coaches poll.

Kennesaw State (14-3) finished as the runner-up last spring to Reinhardt (which has transitioned to the NAIA) and the Owls expected to get their stiffest test from Palm Beach Atlantic (10-3), which is in its final season with the SELC before transitioning to NCAA Division II.

Florida Gulf Coast (5-7) and Appalachian State (7-3) round out the top four.

The 16-team, four-division SELC also does a regional poll, which is available below. Kennesaw State (Southwest), Palm Beach Atlantic (Southeast), Appalachian State (Northwest) and the Citadel (Northeast) were all favored to earn the top seed in their respective region.

The SELC tournament will once again be held in Johns Creek, Ga., from April 21-23. This year's format pits the Northwest division against the Southeast and the Southwest versus the Northeast in the quarterfinals.
