UT-Dallas Names Tri-Captains

UT-Dallas Names Tri-Captains

January 12th, 2017 General News | UT-Dallas

DALLAS -- The University of Texas-Dallas men's lacrosse team is proud to announce the three student-athletes who will lead the Comets in the 2017 campaign.

Senior attackman Carson Boone, junior midfielder Zain Rehman and freshman goalie John Scalley will represent the Comets as they look to win their first LSA championship and qualify for the 2017 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour.

Boone, a standout from Allen (Texas) High School, is a transfer from NCAA Division III Hendrix (Ark.) University and is looking to continue the success he found at the D-III level. He led the Warriors in scoring his sophomore year will be expected to anchor the UT-Dallas attack.

Rehman, from Cedar Ridge High School in Austin, is the defending LSA Division II Offensive Player of the Year while also earning first team all-conference. He will continue to be the main scoring threat for the Comets as they head into the 2017 season.

Scalley, who prepped at Coppell (Texas) High School, has showcased throughout the fall campaign. His maturity and success at quarterbacking the defense has earned a spot as captain through his leadership ability on and off the field. Scalley is the first freshman in the brief UTD history to be voted as captain.

UTD will open their season on Feb. 3 hosting MCLA newcomer Southern Illinois in Dallas. The Comets will play an 11-game schedule.
