BSU's Holzer Has Top Performance

BSU's Holzer Has Top Performance

March 7th, 2017 General News | Boise State | Clemson | Colorado | Colorado State | Oklahoma | Stanford

ATLANTA – After sparking unranked Boise State to a stunning, 12-8 victory over No. 7 Oregon on Saturday, rookie attackman Brayden Holzer has earned the MCLA Division I Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour for the period ending March 5.

The Meridian, Idaho, native scored four goals and dished out an assist against the Ducks, with several of his markers coming in the second half as the Broncos were fending off a late Oregon surge. Holzer also added a pair of ground balls.

“Brayden comes into every contest with a fantastic attitude and plays with pace from the first whistle to the last,” said Boise State coach Jon Mundy. “He’s a next-level passer with a ridiculously fast release on his shot, which allowed him to find space and finish on the opportunities the game gave him.

“The leadership he showed – not only in the way he plays, but vocally, as well – is pretty rare to see in a freshman. I’m excited for his future as a Bronco and look forward to seeing what he can accomplish.”

For his efforts in earning the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour, Holzer will receive a new Under Armour Command Head – a $100 value. Under Armour is the proud sponsor of the MCLA.
