ATLANTA – The Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA), the preeminent non-varsity league in the country, is pleased to announce the addition of Doug Horn to the Executive Board.

Horn is a long-time member of the MCLA community having played a huge role in the formation and development of the SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference (SELC).

“I was honored to be asked to serve on the MCLA executive board,” Horn said. “My 20 years of experience administrating the SELC will be valuable in this position.”

Horn, a four-year college starter who helped Roanoke win an NCAA national championship in 1978, served on the SELC Board of Directors for nearly 20 years and was president of the SELC for 12 years.

He was MCLA vice president for National Championship and Awards from 1999-03.

“Doug knows all the ins and outs of the MCLA and will be a valuable person to have on the Executive Board,” said MCLA president Ken Lovic. “He has always been an advocate for the MCLA and the sport of lacrosse, making him a perfect fit.”

Horn will be replacing Chris Malone, who is stepping down as a board member after four years. Family and job commitments prevent him from being a full board member, but he will remain with the MCLA in an advisory role and on various committees.

“Whether as a coach or an administrator, Chris gave his all to the MCLA and we are appreciative of his dedication,” Lovic said. “We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
