Texas A&M Wins LSA-I Crown

AUSTIN, Texas – Using a fourth-quarter offensive explosion, Texas A&M pulled away from Oklahoma to win the Division I Lone Star Alliance championship on Sunday afternoon, 17-11.

With the win, the Aggies (11-3) earn an automatic qualifying berth in the 2018 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Amour, which takes place in Salt Lake City from May 7-12.

This will be Texas A&M’s eighth visit to nationals and the first since 2008. The Sooners end their season with a 13-4 mark.

Oklahoma was able to keep up with A&M in a high-scoring first quarter, trailing by a lone goal, 6-5. The Aggies pulled away in the second to post a 10-6 lead at the halftime break.

A big third quarter brought the Sooners to within one again, 12-11, but Texas A&M finished the game on a 5-0 run to seal the victory.
