ATLANTA – After sparking UC San Diego to the top seed in its division, Tritons senior midfielder David Mastro earned MCLA Division II Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour for the period ending April 15.

On Saturday, UCSD hosted No. 12 and previous undefeated Cal State San Marcos and Mastro was superb. He registered a hat trick, set up two other goals and grabbed six ground balls as the Tritons sprung the upset, 11-9.

Earlier in the week, the Huntington Beach, Calif., product scored a goal and set up three others in a conference victory against UC Irvine. UCSD will now be the top seed out of the SLC South in the upcoming conference tournament.

"David is a two-year captain, yet saying he's a great leader doesn't fully capture what he does for our team," said UCSD coach Albert Man. "His effort on both sides of the ball inspires and energizes every player on the team to give everything they've got, whether at practice or in games."

For his efforts in earning the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour, Mastro will receive a new Under Armour Command Head – a $100 value. Under Armour is the proud sponsor of the MCLA.
