Under Armour Continuing Weekly Award

Under Armour Continuing Weekly Award

September 14th, 2018 General News

ATLANTA – The Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA), the preeminent non-varsity league in the country, is pleased to announce that Under Armour will continue sponsoring the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour for the fourth straight season in 2019.

The award will go to an MCLA student-athlete in each division who has stood out with his overall play in that week.

The Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour will be awarded 15 times during the season in each division, starting on Feb. 5 and running through May 11. The recipient of the honor will receive a new Under Armour Command Head, a $90 value, in addition to national recognition.

“The Commanding Performance of the Week has become one of the signature awards that an MCLA player can earn during the season. We’re thankful for Under Armour continuing it this season,” said MCLA president Ken Lovic. “Receiving a Command Head is not only a reward in itself, but it’s symbolic of an excellent week of work on the field.”

The award will be based on statistical prowess, opponent strength and team success, along with other factors, and will be released on Tuesday of every week. Players will be assessed via the box scores entered on MCLA.us, and only statistics posted prior to noon EST on Mondays will be considered.

“Under Armour is proud to be a part of the MCLA again,” said Colton Vosburgh, lacrosse category manager at Under Armour. “The level of competition continues to build year after year and it’s exciting to acknowledge the players who are dedicated to sustained greatness.”

Coaches may also submit their nomination by the same deadline to [email protected]. Only nominations from coaches will be considered.
