SALT LAKE CITY – After leading the St. Thomas offense in its win over Dayton in the Division II title game at the 2019 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour, junior midfielder Jack Stanchfield was named the game’s Most Outstanding Player.

In the 9-7 Tommies win, the Edina, Minn., product factored in on over half of the team’s production. He buried a pair of goals and set up three others for a five-point afternoon.

“Jack has been a valuable offensive leader for us ever since he showed up freshman year,” said St. Thomas coach Brian Gross. “He's been a very balanced player for the last two years, and that was on full display this week, particularly in the semis and championship. His ability to create off the dodge and move the ball to his teammates for high-percentage shots were really the key to our offensive success.”

For the tournament, Stanchfield finished with seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points (4.25 ppg).
