ATLANTA – He sparked a pair of ranked victories in North Dakota and for his efforts, St. Thomas faceoff man Justin Hackman earns MCLA Division II Dominant Performance of the Week presented by Warrior for the period ending Feb. 16.

On Saturday against No. 10 Montana, the Mahtomedi, Minn., product won 15 of the 16 draws (93.8 winning percentage) as the Tommies pulled away from the Grizzlies for a 9-4 triumph.

No. 14 Montana State was the opponent on Sunday and again Hackman delivered, winning 11-of-14 faceoffs (78.6%) as St. Thomas cruised to a 19-3 triumph.

For the weekend, Hackman went 26-for-30 (86.7%) with six ground balls.

“Hackman is a leader on and off the field for us,” said St. Thomas coach Jason King. “Off the field, he is our vice president and takes on a lot of administrative duties. On the field, he is an emotional leader and a game changer.

“Faceoffs are one of the most important parts of the game that requires a unique skill set that Hackman has dedicated a lot of time and energy to. It really payed off this past weekend. The extra possessions he provided us were a big part of allowing us to be successful.”

For his efforts in earning the Dominant Performance of the Week presented by Warrior, Hackman will receive a new Warrior Burn 2 – a $90 value. Warrior is a proud supporter of the MCLA.

The Lynx downed St. Louis in their season opener aided by the solid play of the attackman, who had three goals and six dimes.

Jared Johnson, Sr. – Minn.-Duluth
In a pair of wins over Montana and Montana State, the Mahtomedi product combined six goals and four assists.

Zack Pfannesntiel, Fr. – MSU Denver
The Roadrunners won their home opener against St. Louis helped by six goals and three assists from the Thornton, Colo., product.

Scot Schoolmeester, Soph. – Cal State San Marcos
The Cougars put the brakes on the powerful UC Irvine attack thanks to the play of Schoolmeester, who had five forced turnovers.
