Senior Thank You: Northern Arizona

Senior Thank You: Northern Arizona

April 27th, 2020 General News | Northern Arizona

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — The senior class of 2020 had their season stolen from them.

For reasons outside of their control, they will never be able to pursue goals for which they worked so hard.

As part of a recurring segment for the remainder of this spring, coaches have the opportunity to thank their seniors one last time.

Continuing the series is Northern Arizona coach Will Lawlor honoring his four seniors.

* * *

The 2020 NAU senior class took our program to new heights. The work they put in, both on and off the field, has a permanent impact on any success.

#17 Brent Marchand, Defense
El Cajon, Calif. (Grossmont)
Brent leaves a legacy of success on our program that goes beyond the playing field.

His IQ and ability to diagnose an offense lead to unforgettable takeaway checks and transition.

#13 Alec Gastony, Goalie
Gilbert, Ariz. (Gilbert)
Alec was consistently the most athletic player every time he stepped on the field.

He played a great arc with style, showed up with passion and baited shooters. His ability to turn the save into a highlight-reel clear is unmatched. .

#7 Ty Silva - Midfield
Las Vegas, Nev. (Coronado)
Ty is the blue collar midfielder any coach dreams of working with.

He added something to his game each year and dominated multiple phases of every single game he played in.

#26 Kyle Holleschau, Midfield
Danville, Calif. (Monte Vista)
Kyle brought a toughness and edge with him every day as he showed up for work.

Every team needs this emotion, and it can't be coached. His huge toe drags, celebrations and joy brought us energy.

We can not thank Brent, Alec, Ty, and Kyle enough for their contributions to NAU lacrosse.

They are an outstanding group of personalities that will be dearly missed and we are excited to follow them in the professional world.
