KNOXVILLE, Tenn.— The senior class of 2020 had their season stolen from them.

For reasons outside of their control, they will never be able to pursue goals for which they worked so hard.

As part of a recurring segment for the remainder of this spring, coaches have the opportunity to thank their seniors one last time.

Continuing the series is Tennessee coach Tyler Corcoran honoring his four seniors.

#18 Zach Freeland, Midfield
- went to Mauldin high school in Greenville, South Carolina.
- majoring in civil engineering and plans to work for Duke Energy in Charlotte after graduation

"First and foremost, Zach was the consummate glue-guy for our team — a dedicated teammate who was always there for his teammates both on and off the field. He was the definition of a leader and as important as any person in our program when it comes to developing team chemistry.

As important as those contributions were, Zach is just a competitor — plain and simple. He was instrumental in turning around the culture of the program; few, if any, did more to instill a competitive atmosphere at our practices than Zach.

"Whether it was a ground ball drill or team sprints, I knew Zach would do whatever he could to win. His competitive attitude inspired his teammates and helped set a new standard at practice."

#8 Mitch Langley, Attack
- went to Middletown high school in Maryland
- majoring in biomedical engineering; enrolling in graduate school at the Tennessee in the fall.
- 2018 SELC Honorable Mention All-Conference Attack; former US Lacrosse 2016 Boys' High School All-Academic,

"Simply put, Mitch is the prototypical X attackmen. He quarterbacked our offense and demonstrated a higher-level understanding of offensive and defensive sets all season.

"As a captain, Mitch exemplified leading by example and always made it an emphasis to help develop the younger players on the team — thereby solidifying a legacy that will be felt long past this year. I was fortunate to have him on the team during my first-year at the helm at UT."

#5 Allen Weber, Midfield
- a Hendrix College transfer
- from Franklin, Tennessee

"Allen was a terrific teammate and entirely selfless. Naturally an offensive midfielder, he moved to defensive midfield in 2019 when injuries devastated our depth chart and developed into a good player in that position over a very short time span.

"In 2020, before injuries limited his season, he moved back to offensive midfield and worked hard to grasp a complete understanding of our offensive sets. To that end, he was able to lead his teammates while on offense and ensure everyone was on the same page and where they were suppose to be.

"Watching him develop over the last three years as a player — particularly in terms of IQ — was an absolute joy. Players like Allen are what push programs to the next level."

#41 Bill LaRue, Goalie
- a Widener University transfer; current head coach of Knox Catholic High School
- Pennsylvania native

"Bill brought a great pedigree of goalie knowledge and experience to the team this season in his only season with the program. He undoubtedly made the team better.

"As a current head coach at a local high school, his schedule was quite hectic. Nevertheless, he always came ready to work and push his fellow netminders to be the best they possibly could be."
