PROSPER, Texas – The TCU men’s lacrosse team traveled to face a long-time blue blood and former conference foe in the University of Texas and walked away with a statement win on Sunday afternoon.

Texas jumped out with the first goal and the two teams gave each other body shots back and forth with UT up at the half, 9-7.

TCU made several changes coming out of the half and dominated the third and fourth quarters, as they secured a very hard fought, 15-9 win.

TCU was led by their LSA-leading defense, which had senior Brody Cummins as the anchor. The goalie made 24 saves and shut the door the entire second half.

Supporting Cummins were long poles Zac Zirpolo, Grayson Weithman, Trager Conard, Josh Harrison and Sam Norris.

The TCU offense was bolstered by many, including Hayden Lunde (5g, 1a), Andrew Miller (3g, 1a), Griffin Turner (3g, 3a), Michael Fogerty (1g), Billy Niles (1g) and Steven Mason (1g).

TCU travels to play Kansas University on April 17 and LSU on April 18.

Coach Mark Purcell was very pleased with TCU's preparation, the defense’s level of contesting the ball, the offensive firepower and their will to persevere.
