SELC Tourney Moving to Jacksonville

ATLANTA – After a lengthy stay in the Johns Creek, Ga., area, the SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference (SELC) tournament is moving to Jacksonville, Fla., in the spring of 2022.

The SELC has partnered with Prospects Lacrosse to make the move to Jacksonville.

The quarterfinals of the Division I tournament will be held on April 16 at a location to be determined while the semifinals and finals will be held at the Bolles School on April 23-24.

“Johns Creek has been a phenomenal host over the years,” said SELC president Michael Dubbelde. “Since the formation of the ALC, however, four of the ten SELC Division I teams and five of the eight Division II teams are in Florida. The geographic center has shifted.

“There were a couple other options we were exploring, but Jacksonville was just as excited to host our tournament as we were. The growth of lacrosse from the grass roots level in that area is exponential and has become a premier hotbed for collegiate talent. Having the ability to showcase some of the best programs the MCLA has to offer is a huge opportunity to continue to expand the SELC and MCLA brand.”

The winners of both the SELC Division I and Division II tournaments will receive an automatic bid to the 2022 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance. The event will take place at the Round Rock (Texas) Multipurpose Complex from May 9-14.
