Weekend Review

No. 1 BYU rolled this weekend in Boise, winning both matchups by a combined 37-8 over Washington State and Boise State.

No. 15 UVU took home the ‘Arbon Cup’ for the third straight year with a 23-8 result over Utah State.

Texas beat SMU 10-6 and blanked Texas Tech 24-0 to start the year 2-0.

The RMLC D-I schools have combined for a 7-0 start to the season but will face some challenges in the coming week.

MSU-Denver put the hurt on both the Huskers and Bluejays with a 2-0 roadtrip to the Cornhusker State.

Utah and No. 17 Utah State squared off in a battle for early positioning in the RMLC Northwest Division. A hard fought and physical game that was within two goals with seven minutes left saw the Utes pull away for a 12-7 win.

The Utes will have a chance to knock off a another ranked opponent this Friday when they face No. 11 College of Idaho in Caldwell.

This week in the RMLC: plenty of big games in both divisions as Week 2 gets underway.

Division I

The Georgia Bulldogs (3-1) are in Colorado for a back-to-back against No. 22 Colorado State (2-0) and No. 8 Colorado (0-0). The Bulldogs roll into the

Centennial State after knocking off No. 13 Florida State 15-12 in Week 1. This will also be our first look at the No. 8 Buffs who will be playing their first game since 2020 and with new skipper Guy Cerasoli at the helm.

Texas welcomes both No. 12 Boston College (1-1) -- a team who knocked off No. 7 South Carolina 10-7 -- as well as UC Santa Barbara (1-1) who took No. 5 Cal to the wire in Week 1.

The Longhorns have a great opportunity to notch their first ranked win of the 2022 season against a tough BC team.

No. 1 BYU and No. 15 UVU are idle this week.

Division II
Some early Top 10 matchups this week as No. 9 Montana State (0-0) takes on No. 4 Minn-Duluth (0-1) and No. 1 St. Thomas (0-1) in Englewood, Colo. The Bobcats are looking to prove they are ready for Round Rock as they face two Top 5 teams in less than 24 hours.

Utah (1-1) heads to Idaho to take on No. 11 College of Idaho (0-0) Friday night and Idaho (0-0) Sunday afternoon. The Utes have plenty of talent and confidence to play spoiler to the ‘Yotes in their season opener.

No. 17 Utah State, Fort Lewis, Air Force (club), Colorado Mines, Wyoming, and MSU-Denver are all idle this week.

USU will be traveling to Minnesota for some early Week 3 matchups.
