Va. Tech Powers to the ALC-I Title

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech raced out to an early lead and rolled to the Atlantic Lacrosse Conference (ALC) Division I championships with an 18-11 victory over Clemson on Sunday afternoon.

ALC DIVISION I BRACKET

The Hokies (14-1) – the presumptive top seed – receive an automatic qualifying berth to the 2022 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance, which will be held in Round Rock, Texas, from May 9-14.

Clemson (13-4) will be a part of the at-large pool and will await its fate when the selection committee meets this evening to set the 16-team field.

Sophomore Aidan Smith was a monster for the Hokies, burying seven goals in the victory.

First Round – April 22-24 – Home sites
#2N Pittsburgh d. #3N West Virginia, 16-8
#2S Clemson d. #3S NC State, 12-11

Semifinals – April 30 – City Stadium
#2S Clemson d. #1N Liberty, 12-11
#1S Virginia Tech d. #2N Pittsburgh, 11-4

Finals – May 1 – City Stadium
