ATLANTA – After leading Air Force to its first RMLC tournament championship, Falcons rookie attackman Mark Tang is the MCLA Division II Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending April 30.

Air Force opened the tournament on Friday night against No. 13 Utah State, and the Moraga, Calif., product was dominant. He scored four goals and dished out three assists as the Falcons rolled the Aggies, 12-3, and flew into the title game.

In the championship contest against No. 3 Montana State, Tang stayed hot. He netted a double hat trick while also setting up a seventh goal as Air Force pulled the 12-11 stunner, automatically qualifying for the 2023 MCLA National Championships in Round Rock, Texas, from May 8-13.

“Mark is the leader of our offense,” said Air Force coach Robert Koehler. “He is only a freshman, but he does not play like one.

“Teams put their best defenseman on him and they try to shut him off, but he still averages six to seven points a game. He is a phenomenal player with a high lacrosse IQ. And he also has a 3.98 grade point average.”

For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Tang will receive a Warrior EVO QX-O – a $100 value – for his efforts. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.

Warrior Honor Roll

Patrick Grover, Soph. – Rhode Island
The Rams got four goals and five assists from the Newburyport, Mass., attackman in their run to the CLC title.

Miles Hess, Soph. – Montana
The Grizzlies rolled to the PNCLL crown, aided by a combined six goals and nine assists from the Portland, Ore., attackman.

Garett Hoch, Sr. – St. Thomas
The Tommies rolled to the UMLC title thanks to a combined seven goals and five assists from the Lino Lakes, Minn., product.

Blake Moxim, Jr. – UNC-Charlotte
The Hopedale, Mass., attackman amassed eight goals and five dimes in the 49ers run to the ALC championship.
